The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has suspended the ongoing Under-16 inter-zonal cricket tournament from April 6 as a precautionary measure following the rise in Covid-19 cases.

BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has suspended the ongoing Under-16 inter-zonal cricket tournament from April 6 as a precautionary measure following the rise in Covid-19 cases.
The KSCA will review the situation after the third week of April before deciding on the remaining matches.
Twelve teams from all zones of the state are participating in the tournament which got under way on March 31.

The first round of the two-day games was completed on April 1 while the second round began on Saturday.
Speaking to TOI, KSCA spokesperson Vinay Mruthyunjaya said the second round of matches would be completed on Sunday while the fate of the remaining rounds would be decided after April 20.
Vinay also said no Covid-19 cases had been reported at the KSCA tournaments played after the Covid-induced break last year.
